Wu Xiao Fan
I first saw the work of 午小飯 (Wu Xiao Fan) about a month or so ago, and at the time I remember being really taken by his subject matter, very often scenes of domestic lives, or of simple, private moments. Looking at many of the photographs again now, I’m struck not only by his choice of subject matter, but also by the sense of detachment he brings to it; a sense, strange as it sounds, of being distant — on either a visual, or emotional, or physical level — from the action, while being intimate - also on either a visual, or emotional, or physical level - with the actors.
